Privacy Policy

Snapstage redesigns photos of rooms. This page explains, in plain English, what happens to your photo and the little bit of other data the app uses.

Your photos

When you upload a room photo, your browser shrinks it and sends it to Snapstage. Snapstage passes it to our image provider, xAI, to create the redesign and the shop list, then returns the result to you. Snapstage processes the photo in memory and does not save a copy, and there is no photo library or account to keep it in. xAI handles the photo under its own privacy policy. Please don’t upload photos with people, documents, or anything private in view.

The finished image lives in your browser. If you download it, it is saved to your device. Close the page and it is gone from Snapstage.

The free redesign limit

Everyone gets 3 free redesigns. To enforce that without accounts, Snapstage sets a signed cookie (ss_free) holding a random ID, and also counts redesigns against a hashed fingerprint made from your IP address and browser details. We store only the hash and a count, never your raw IP address, and not your photo. Shared networks can look alike, so the fingerprint limit is a little higher than the cookie limit.

Snapstage also keeps a short-lived, in-memory count of requests per network so no one can overload the service.

Paid plans and payments

Paid plans are processed by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch Snapstage’s servers. Stripe sends us your customer ID and subscription status, and we keep the email you give Stripe in your Stripe record so you can manage billing. When you subscribe, a signed cookie (ss_session) tells Snapstage which Stripe customer you are on that device. You can cancel any time from the billing link inside the app.

Amazon links and your Amazon tag

Shop-list links go to Amazon search pages. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Links carry an Amazon Associates tracking ID, Snapstage’s by default. If you add your own Amazon tag, or open a link that carries a subscriber’s tag, your browser remembers that tag in local storage for 14 days. Amazon sets its own cookies when you visit Amazon, under Amazon’s privacy notice. Snapstage never sees what you buy.

Other data

  • Snapstage records anonymous button taps (such as the camera button) as a timestamp and the button name. No IP address, cookie, or personal data goes with them.
  • Snapstage counts page views and completed redesigns with its own simple counter, so we know how many people use the site. Each page view stores the page path, the website that sent you (if any), and a short hash of your IP address and browser that changes every day. The raw IP address is never stored, the hash cannot be traced back to you or followed from one day to the next, and no cookie is used for this. We do not count visits that send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
  • Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and page requested) for security and reliability.
  • Snapstage does not sell your data and does not run third-party advertising or tracking scripts.

Your choices

You can clear the cookies and local storage for snapstage.app in your browser at any time. Note that clearing them does not reset the hashed fingerprint count for the free limit. To ask about, correct, or delete anything tied to your Stripe subscription, email rocky@doodooblues.com.

Snapstage is for adults. It is not directed at children under 13.
